Fake Bake Reviews/Comparison

Lately, it seems as if I have become a bit addicted to fake baking. I have been working a lot and I don't have the time to get out in the sun and I really don't want to go to the tanning beds. I used to go to tanning beds and lay out in the sun like it was my job but now I'm starting to worry about sun/skin damage. So, I've resorted to the safe alternative- tanning lotions. Here are the lotions that I've tried so far:
St. Tropez Step 3 Tanning Lotion
$30.00 (for 40z.)
*Rating: 9 out of 10*
St. Tropez gives you a deep dark color once you use it for a few consecutive days. The consistency is somewhat thick, so it takes some getting used to when it comes to application. It is a little streaky once it is first applied but if you apply it at night and wash it off in the shower in the morning, you have a flawless tan. It doesn't make you the least bit orange, it gives you a natural golden tan. It's a little pricier than some but well worth the money-I LOVE this stuff.

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Spray
$9.99 (for 4.2 oz.)
*Rating: 4 out of 10*
While I love my St. Tropez, I thought I'd give some others a try in an effort to save a little money. I really wanted to try a spray formula so I tried this one. It's much easier to spray than it is to use a lotion even though you rub it in after spraying. When I was inside, I thought "oh wow, this gave me an instant, dark tan, I look great!" Well, once I stepped outside, I noticed how streaky and orange I was. So if you need an instant tan (for a night out or something) and you plan on staying indoors, this is a good quick fix for your situation.
L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self-Tanning Lotion
$8.99 (for 6.7 oz.)
*Rating: 8 out of 10*
This lotion has a deep, dark bronze color to it with a lot of sparkles. It is very easy to apply as the consistency is much thinner in comparison to St. Tropez. It does give "instant action" as the label claims. You don't have to let this lotion sit overnight, you can just apply it as you would any other lotion and go. I prefer a lotion that doesn't have a sparkle to it but that is just my personal preference. Most importantly- no orange and no streaks.
L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion
$8.99 (for 5 oz.)
*Rating: 7 out of 10*
This gives you more of a gradual tan, it is comparable to Jergens Natual Glow. It has a very similiar consistency to the L'Oreal Luminous Bronzer- it's easy to apply and has a lot of sparkles in it. It doesn't leave me streaky or orange. I think this is great to apply in between applications of (instant) self-tanners (ie: St. Tropez) to maintain your color.
Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer
$8.99 (for 7.5 oz.)
*Rating: 6 out of 10*
Jergens is very similar to the L'Oreal Tinted Self Tanner (above) as it gives a gradual tan. There are no sparkles in this one which I like. This is great to apply inbetween to maintian color but I think the L'Oreal Tinted Self-Tanner gives you more color. However, I do like that this lotion doesn't have sparkles in it. A lot of people complain about the scent of Jergens; it doesn't really bother me but I think the L'Oreal lotions have a much fainter scent to them.
Next up to try: Victoria's Secret Beach Sexy Instant Self-Tan Lotion with Tint and Flawless Airbrush Instant Bronze Body Spray. They are currently on special 2 for $20 and my friend swears by the lotion so... reviews coming soon!

What is your favorite self-tanner?
Have you found yourself favoring self-tanner over the sun or tanning beds as well?
