So Long Sweet Summer

I can't believe summer is coming to a close already. My favorite season of the year is far too short, especially where I live. I'm not ready for the long, cold Pennsylvania winter but it's inevitable. I am excited though for Halloween and I have been missing my scarves, Uggs, and tall leather boots but...that's about it.

Anyway, I decided to do an autumn inspired look today. I apologize for the photo quality, I need to find better lighting I guess.

Benefit- Bikini Line (all over lid and inner corners)
NYX- Herb <---LOVE this color! (on top of Bikini Line & smudged on bottom lash line)
NYX- Sahara (highlight)
MAC- Print (crease)
MAC- Carbon (outer corners over Black Bean & smudged on bottom lash line)
NYX- Black Bean Jumbo eyeshadow pencil (smudged on inner corners)
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara
My hair was a medium-dark brown for most of the summer but I recently dyed it back to my natural color which is dark brown/soft black.
It's slowly but surely getting longer. I wish my hair would grow as fast as my nails do!

How are you coping with the season change?

2010 Emmys

Lea Michele
My favorite dress of the night- stunning.
Mindy Kaling
I know a lot of people thought this dress was a poor choice
but I think it's fun and I think she looks gorgeous.
Nina Dobrev
I love the details on this gown- so classy and elegant.
The pickup definately makes this dress.
Claire Danes
This dress is so simple but it makes such a statement at the same time.
Heidi Klum
She always looks great, no matter what. I don't think this was an appropriate dress choice for the Emmys but the dress is beautiful and so is she.
Eva Longoria Parker & Tony Parker
I think they are the cutest couple. They both look fantastic
and her dress is so flattering to her petite figure.

Cake Samples, Decor & more Gifts!

I haven't missed a Wedding Wednesday post in a while but this week has been pretty chaotic so here it is... better late than never, right?

Over the weekend, Sunday to be exact, my mom, future mother in law, and I went to a bridal show at our venue and we had a great time. I got to show them our venue, we tasted some cake, got some ideas AND I won a $100 gift card to the Bon Ton!

I picked up these samples at the bakery today for us to taste after dinner tonight. I can't wait to try them!!
Top row (right to left): chocolate, strawberry, red velvet, strawberry amaretto
Bottow row (right to left): vanilla, orange supreme, carrot w/ cream cheese icing, chocolate chambord

Then I went to Michaels and I completely lucked out! I found a bunch of great things that I can use for the wedding and they were all on clearance!

20 Pink Daisy Kissing Balls
Original Price: $4.99 Sale Price: 49 cents
These will be perfect for the chairs on the outside of the aisle for our ceremony.
3 Wrought Iron Candle Holders
Original Price: $14.99 Sale Price: $1.49
I'm painting these ivory and using them for decoration.
They will work beautifully with my shabby chic, vintage, bird theme.
15 Chalkboard Toggles
Original Price: $1.99 Sale Price: 19 cents
I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing with these yet...
maybe putting them on the backs of the chairs to reserve seating.
Either way, they will be put to use, whether in my home or at the wedding.

We've been engaged for a little over 6 months already and we are still getting engagement presents! I can't believe how fast time is flying.
Here are some more of our gifts:
Lenox Jubilee Ring Holder
I also have the matching dessert serving set and toasting flutes.

Damask Vienna Tablecloth, matching napkins and napkin rings

Outfit of the Day: Interview Attire

I had a second interview today and as long as everything goes well, I will have a third interview within the next couple of days. *fingers crossed* I forgot to take pictures of my first interview outfit but it was pretty similar to this one anyway. I just wore my plain, basic, black pant suit from the Limited.

The Limited Black Blazer
Strawberry's Skirt with Bow Belt
BMoss Beaded Tank Top (old)

Outfit of the Night

I went out for dinner and drinks with an old friend last night and here's what I wore:

Top: Strawberry's
Jeans: Forever 21
Heels: BCBG
Pearl Bracelet: American Eagle
Pink Bracelets: old, from Avon I think
Necklace: a memorial necklace
(in rememberance of my grandfather) that I wear everyday.
My mom, aunt, cousin, and I all have the same one.
I can't even describe how excited I was to find that Strawberry's came into my mall! I used to go to the one in New York City all the time and I'm beyond thrilled that there is one within ten minutes of my house. It's much smaller than the one in NYC but I can deal...
Have you ever shopped at Strawberry's?

I'm Tagged!

I am fortunate enough to have such sweet and thoughtful readers that both KayKay from A Sick Obsession and Jenna from UK Fashion Trends tagged me in a Beauty realted post, so here it goes...

1. What's your favourite makeup look?
The Smokey Eye

2. What part of your body do you love?
I love my stomach. I worked hard for it and I'm proud of it. I also have strong, healthy nails (genetics) so I love my nails too.

3. Who is your beauty icon?
Definately Kim Kardashian. I always love her makeup, her body is amazing and I love her style.

4. What beauty product makes you feel instantly good?
Mascara!

5. How do you look after your skin?
I always make sure to wash all of my makeup off before bed. My routine is wash, tone, moisturize in the morning and at night.

6. What is your signature scent?
Victoria's Secret Halo (it's been discontinued but I was lucky enough to find one on eBay) and Paris Hilton (the original).

7. What is your hair care secret?
I don't really have one. I try to deep condition my hair with Aussie's 3 minute miracle once a week but that doesn't always happen.

8. How do you pamper yourself?
I do face masks at home and I love treating my hands and feet to Mary Kay's Satin Hands treatment.

9. Finally, do you have a beauty philosophy?
Makeup is supposed to enhance the features that you already have not cover them up.

Wedding Wednesday

As many of you know, I am using bird nest place "cards," I have a bird cage for our cards and the theme is vintage/romantic. So it makes perfect sense that I fell in love with these beautiful cake toppers.

Flea Market Finds

It was such a beautiful day Saturday so my mom and I decided to spend the day walking around at the Pocono Bazaar (flea market in Marshalls Creek, PA). We try to get there at least once every summer because it's a huge place and it's a nice walk on a summer day. We were a little disappointed this year though. It was half the size that it normally is and there were a lot of junk vendors. I did manage to find a few things though.

I thought this would be a great wallet because it transitions into a wristlet that I can use if we spontaneously decide to go out for the night.
I have a similar pair that I love but they have seen better days so I got these. I want to invest in a designer pair but I beat my sunglasses up pretty bad so until I learn how to take care of them...I'll settle for the fakes.

This headband reminded me of jelly shoes. Remember them? I practically lived in them as a kid. Anyway, this headband has good hold and it doesn't hurt my head like some other ones that I have that are a similar style.

Basic everyday sterling silver studs. I always wear studs. I just can't set used to dangly earrings on me. I think they make my face look longer. I'll wear them once in a while but I have only found 3 pairs that I actually like on me.

I found this for my fiance- nice basic black leather wallet.
Then we decided to go to The Crossings Outlets...
We wanted to check out Coach and I wanted to get some NYX makeup. My mom got a really cute, very classic Coach wallet. I didn't get any NYX because the store that sells it stopped carrying it- SO disappointing. Then to top it off BCBG Max Azria (one of my favorite stores) is out of buisness and is being replaced by Lacoste! But here's what I got:

I got this Yankee Candle electric home fragrance unit in my favorite scent-Coconut Bay. I was a little hesitant to buy it because I am sensitive to fragrances sometimes. For example, reed diffusers make me break out in a full on allergy attack but this is nice, it's light and it gives off just the right amount of fragrance.

Of course, I had to stop in Juicy! They were having amazing sales- 40% off all terry bags! This bag was marked down to $94! They had it in pink and a light lavendar color. I was hoping for black or grey so I could wear it this fall but, no such luck. I really like the key embellishment but I didn't get it because I didn't want it to sit all winter. Now that I'm looking at it though, I'm wondering if I should go back and get it. What do you think? Should I get it?
I made some very exciting purchases yesterday. I bought the gifts for my girls (in my bridal party)! I wish that I could share them with you but unfortunately I can't because my maid of honor may be reading this. Let's just say it's the best bridal party gift you will ever get.

In the Bag Post

Ciao Bella did a "In the Bag" post yesterday and I thought it was a cute idea. You can check out her post here.
...and here's mine:

Inside my Lancome makeup bag from left to right:
TOP: Nars Belle De Jour, Nars Turkish Delight, NYX Circe, NYX Pumpkin Pie, Hard Candy Fire Alarm, Chap Stick Moisturizer, Victoria's Secret Lip Liner in Nude, Victoria's Secret Lip Liner in Pouty
BOTTOM: Paris Hilton perfume, NYC Bold Brown eyeliner, Rimmel Jet Black eyeliner, MAC pressed blot powder
Tissues, Ban travel deoderant (in case you forget- always be prepared!), double mirror, Aveda hand cream, hand sanitizer, Visine for contacts, nail file, Oral B Satin floss (my fav. floss!)

D&G wallet, Steve Madden sunglasses, a flashlight?? (don't know where that came from), York chocolate covered mints (delish!), hair tie, allergy pill, pepto bismol, life savers mints, book of matches from Carmines (my fav. restaurant of all time, don't smoke, just reminds me of their chicken marsala), sticky notes & pen, Kay jewelers card with 2 possible ring choices written on back, movie stubs from Grown Ups, bird nest (these will be our place "cards," I need to find pearls for the eggs so I'm carrying it for size reference)

So I think have all bases covered, I'm prepared for just about everything as you can see. Oh, and I love to have a variety of lipsticks to choose from too!
