DIY Ruffle Cardigan

I've been sorting through clothes, purging, and donating donating them like crazy. I came across this basic cream v-neck sweater that was a bit too short on me but for some reason, I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it. It's odd fitting and too short so I cut it down the middle and made it into a cardigan. Then I picked up some ruffled trim from JoAnn Fabric and pinned it on along the edges that I cut to finish it off. I still have to work up the courage to break out my sewing machine and sew the trim on but this is the basic idea.

I haven't used a sewing machine in years so hopefully I can find the time to watch a tutorial and get back into the sewing game soon so I can finish this project. I keep looking at it just hanging there, wanting to wear it pins and all, but of course I can't yet!

  1. It actually looks really nice and I am sure it will have a nicer fit now that you have it cut down the middle. I had a look online for the ELF products and found them - thank you for that :)
