Black Monday OOTD

It's a Black Monday for sure. I picked out this outfit before I knew the results of my glucose test too. I had my one hour glucose test today and failed it so now I have to go back for a 3 hour glucose test. I also found out that my iron is a little lower than it should be. I'm not concerned about the iron because all I have to do now is take an iron supplement in addition to my prenatal vitamins but I'm so bummed about the glucose test. I'm so scared at the thought of having gestational diabetes but I hear that a lot of people fail the first test and pass the second so I'm trying really hard to stay positive. Any of you ladies have a similar experience?

  1. After two kids I never failed mine but I did have trouble with my iron. Have you asked your dr about taking Flintstones vitamins? I threw up my prenatal vitamins and started taking Flintstones..yep the kind kids eat...with iron and boosted it right back up there. I think my best friend had trouble with her glucose, but can't remember what happened. All I know is she has a healthy five year old girl!

    1. I was taking Flintstones for the longest time because I had a lot of nausea and my prenatals made it worse. Last month I switched to a prescription prenatal that I love so far. I just want to get the 3 hour over with, I'm going crazy thinking about the "what-ifs."

  2. Hey Schnelle! Hope your second test goes well - a lot of my friends went in for the second test and passed it - so don't worry!

As for me, since I was carrying twins, I developed gestational diabetes (twins increase the risk for some reason)...anyway - it was managed through exercise and diet and was COMPLETELY easy - I had to be more aware of what I ate, and take frequent small snacks - but in the end, it ensured I didn't gain too much weight, so I think it all worked out for the best :-)

    1. Thanks, Ella! I did hear that a lot of people fail it the first time to only pass it the second. With a family history of diabetes, I'm taking it very seriously and that's why I'm so upset I think. However, it's encouraging to hear your story. Thanks for sharing, I feel a little better about it now.

  3. Ugh, those glucose tests are the worst! I swear the anxiesty of possibly failing the test makes things worse! Don't worry, I'm sure the second will be fine. Try and relax a little - and hey, you look FABULOUS!!
