Springtime Brights

I had a little bit of "me time" the other day so I popped into Old Navy and found a few Spring things:

Kids Dept.

Basic V-Necks & Camis

Mint Chiffon Top

Left: Women's Department - I loved the color but the 5'' leg was too long for
my short legs and speaking of legs, there was too much leg room so the
legs were baggy & bunched up in the back.

Right: Kids Department - After being disappointed with the fit of the women's shorts,
I got the bright idea to check out the kids department, something I haven't
thought to do in quite a while and I was pleasantly surprised.

Things that didn't make the cut:
I loved the cut and color of these bright red pants but I ran into the infamous lower back problem, you know where the pants fit perfectly everywhere but then there's a huge gap of material above your derriere. Am I the only one who has that issue always?

I wasn't sure if I liked the neckline of this top but now that I'm looking at it I'm wishing that I would've gotten it. I think I'm going to have to grab one on my next shopping trip. Don't you love when that happens? It looks like my pregnancy-induced indecisiveness isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Baby's First Easter Basket

It's been so cold and snowy here that it barely feels like Spring and with Easter coming so early this year, it's heard to believe that it's this Sunday. Easter has always been my favorite holiday since I was a kid so naturally, I'm overly excited for Aubrey's first Easter. She's only 8 weeks old and I know she probably won't remember this Easter but whatever, she still needs and Easter basket full of fun stuff. Making an Easter basket for a baby is not an easy thing because you have to be really creative. I spent hours in the stores yesterday searching for ideas and I finally came up with a basket full of cuteness. Hopefully, this will be of some help to some of the moms out there who are looking for ideas...

Huggies Travel Wipes
Boogie Wipes
Fisher Price Baby's First Purse
She had to have this! My family called me "the bag lady" because every time we went to a department store I would pick out handbags and load them up on my arms. I guess you could say I had an obsession with purses when I was little and apparently some things just stay with you.
First Pearl Bracelet
Another must have! It's just a piece of costume jewelry and it probably won't fit her for a while but if anyone knows me they know I love pearls (another thing that started in my childhood and stayed with me). I've been looking for a tiny pearl bracelet in fine jewelry stores but they're not so easy to find in small sizes so this will have to suffice for the time being.
Shabby Chic Wall HookI found this at Michael's and I thought it was adorable; I think the glittered edges sold me. This will be great for hanging an outfit or dress on.

Munchkin Ring Teether
Munchkin Safety Spoons

They actually turn color when the food is too hot- such a great idea!
Penn State Cheerleader Uniform
I searched high and low for a cheerleader outfit and it wasn't easy finding the pink version but I tracked one down! This is just the first of her many Penn State outfits.
...And then there's what I wish was in her Easter basket.
Neon Cap Toe Ballet Flats
I found these adorable cap toes at Target but they didn't have her size! They would match her Easter dress perfectly too. I'm going to check another Target in hopes of finding her size so wish me luck! I wish they came in my size too!

Aubrey's Spring Style

Can I just tell you how much fun it is to shop for little girls? All of the adorable outfits, the accessories (oh the accessories!), and tiny shoes make me so excited. Aubrey has a headband and bow to match just about every outfit and she loves her headbands! I love all of neons and brights that are in right now, they're so fun and cheery but they're also a flashback to the 80's when I was little. Hello Kitty and neon colors, this little one may be reliving my childhood a little bit.

.:Carter's:.
This is probably going to be Aubrey's Easter dress. Easter is my favorite holiday and I began envisioning the cute dresses, ruffled socks, and mary janes as soon as I found out that we were having a little girl. I can't tell you how excited I am about the holidays now that we have a little one. I can't wait to hide eggs for her and watch her go through her basket in years to come.

.:Carter's:.
This bathing suit is the cutest that I've seen so far. She'll get lots of use out of this suit this summer when we take her on her first vacation to Ocean City, Maryland.

.:Carter's:.
3 piece set- romper, dress, and matching bloomers

.:Carter's:.
3 piece set

.:Carter's:.
2 piece set- onsie & gray ruffle pants
This was on clearance for only $4.99!

.:Carter's:.
.:Cutie Pie:. TJ Maxx
2 piece set- ruffled onsie & hat

How cute are the ruffled sleeves?

.:Carter's:.
2 piece set- dress with built-in onsie bottom & cardigan
As you can tell, I'm really into the ballet/ballerina theme.

.:Buy Buy Baby:.
She has to have bow shoes to match her momma, of course!

Naturally, my blog will be taking a slightly different direction now that Aubrey is here. BUT I will still post about all of the same stuff that I posted about before- OOTD's, beauty finds, home decor, DIY projects, etc. However, I'll be throwing some baby related posts into the mix now since that is such a huge part of my life. I've had a few requests to post about making the transition back to work and about post-pardum weight loss so you can look forward to those posts in the near future.

Oh, Google!

I'm sure many of you have heard the terrible news that Google is discontinuing Google Reader. I'm so upset over this because this is the main way that I read blogs on my phone. They're also discontinuing iGoogle which is my main dashboard that I LOVE. As far as I know they aren't replacing either service with another attractive, improved service either. Why are they doing this to us?!

There are a couple of things that you can do:

One. You can sign this petition in the hopes of preventing this change from taking place. It only takes a few seconds and it's worth a shot, right?

Two. You can follow me on bloglovin' by clicking the link below. I've imported all of my blogs to bloglovin' so I can continue to keep up with all of you if Google decides to make this change.

OOTD Mint Dots

Oh my goodness, can you believe it?! I found the time to snap a few quick outfit pics on my iPhone but hey, it's a start. Hopefully, this is the beginning of me getting back into the blogging groove. I started working again this week and I have to tell you life is a bit of a juggling act.

Aubrey isn't sleeping through the night but she is sleeping about 5 hours and for only being (almost) 7 weeks old and being a breastfed baby, I don't think that's too bad. Between working, taking care of Aubrey, cleaning bottles, making dinners, keeping up with housework, and visiting with family and friends, I am in constant motion. I miss blogging though so I'm not giving up on my little space, I just ask that you bear with me while I adjust to this new life. I'm sure many of you moms out there can relate to this transition.

So, here it is my first postpartum OOTD. I have to tell you how much I missed shopping. I really didn't buy much for myself during the last 9 months so I'm pretty excited about all of the spring trends. Speaking of which, Aubrey got a few new things from the spring line at Carter's the other day so maybe I'll share those in a separate post. As excited as I am to add to my closet, words can't express how much fun it is shopping for Aubrey!

Attempted OOTD photo #1
I'm not sure if you can tell but Aubrey is also rockin' the polka dots today.
I'll admit, I do try to match our outfits as much as I can.

Top: Old Navy
Jeans: Old Navy Rockstar Skinnies
Boots: Fergalicious by Fergie
Necklace: F21

Speaking of matching...
This was totally unplanned (I swear!) but my nails just so happen to match the polka dots.

So, my question to all of you blogging mommas is this: How do you do it? How do you balance everything and find the time to blog too?
