Oh la la! Some OOTDs

It's been sooooo long since I last posted and I'm not happy about that. There is so much going on right now though that it's nearly impossible to find any free time. We are trying to get the house finished before the cold weather hits and I've been packing everything up and getting everything prepared for the big move. I hope that once we are settled, things will finally calm down because I'm going to need a break.
In the meantime, here are some quick OOTD's:
I'm so in love with this t-shirt, it's my new go-to T.

Top- J.Crew
Jeans- Rockstar ON
Flats- J.Crew
Belt- ON (kids)
Pearl Necklace- Kohls

Sunday Grocery Shopping OOTD:
Top- Joe Boxer (old)
Jeans- Rockstar ON
Sandals- JC Penny

Love the bow detail and slouchy shoulder.
My oh my how things have changed- I went from never wearing my hair up (except when I wash my face) to wearing it up 90% of the time. I've been seeing these hair ties everywhere so I finally decided to try them and they really do live up to the hype! They don't leave a dent in your hair, they don't pull on your hair resulting in loosing clumps when you undo a ponytail (like some elastics will do), and they make great bracelets too. I picked these up at Old Navy for about $5. If you haven't given them a try you really have to. ON has a bunch of really great patterns to choose from too.

Mommy and Me Matching Headbands

You can ask my mom and she will tell you, I've always been a headband girl; so it really didn't surprise her when I told her that I had ordered matching headbands for Aubrey and I. I saw these headbands featured on Very Jane a few weeks ago. These patterns pictured below were available in adult sizes but I emailed the seller (an etsy seller) to see if she could make matching ones in a toddler size. Katie, owner of Baby Sew Stunning was kind enough to customize my order and make matching headbands in Aubrey's size. I was thrilled to say the least. Katie is such a sweetheart, she's quick to respond, informative, and a quick shipper too!

Here are the headbands- high quality material, excellent craftsmanship, easy to tie, great sizing, and super cute patterns!

Top: Adult size
-about 2 1/2 inches wide, and about 33 inches long-
Bottom: Toddler size
(fits my 7 month old perfectly with room to spare for when she grows)
-about 2 inches wide and 29 inches long-

Be sure to check out Katie's etsy store: Baby Sew Stunning by clicking here
I'll post more about Katie's beautiful creations soon!

Home Sweet Home: Making Progress

I decided to play catch up on posting here and create a new series of posts- "Home Sweet Home." It will be all about the construction and makings of our new home. I'll continue this through we enter the design and decor phase too... so who knows this series will probably be ongoing for... ever.

We started with a forest full of trees, mostly skinny little birch trees that all needed to be cleared.
So here we are, let's start from the beginning:
The land was cleared.
This was all forest that we had to break through but it only took them a few days to clear it out and clear the area for the driveway. Amazing how fast all of this is coming together.
The driveway was put in. This only took two days to fully complete.
...and the drain pipes.
The foundation site was dug out.
It's a lot deeper than it looks in this picture.
The beginnings of a foundation.
Starting to pour concrete!
Foundation site is fully prepped.
Getting ready to pour the concrete walls of our basement and garage.
The foundation is complete!
Standing inside of our basement.
Now it's all starting to sink in.

Standing in the basement side looking out at the garage side toward the driveway.

So far this project is going lightning fast. Luckily, we have a great team working on our home and everyone is on the same page. We're now at the stage where there a some surprises that are popping up but we're so close to the finish line so that's to be expected. The biggest headache so far has been securing all of the permits and planning everything out based on the building code requirements.

The house will be delivered next week. In five pieces. Crazy, right? It's a modular home so most of it is pre-built at the factory. Next up in the photo series will be the crane setting the house. It looks like we will be "home" for the holidays after all. I'm so excited that Aubrey will have her first Christmas in our new home. This is the home where all of her memories will be made in so this fresh start came right in time for us.

Have you gone though the building process?
Do you have any tips or suggestions for us moving forward?
Feel free to share your experience, I'd love to hear all about it.

Hot Pink & Stripes OOTD

It's was 43 degrees (F) when I woke up this morning. Ugh summer really is gone. Ew, just typing that made me grimace. This is an outfit from just last week when it was in the high 80's. Hello crazy Pennsylvania weather! This is the land where you are dying of heat, wearing shorts and a tank one day and the next day you're sipping a hot chocolate with your hoodie and jeans on gathered around a fire. So in other words now that it's fall here you'll see quite a mix in outfits. All aboard the weather roller coaster... here we go!
Top- H&M
Shorts- Old Navy
Sandals- JCP
Necklace- Plato's Closet
Bracelets- Tiffany's and Lia Sophia

...notice something different? No necklace. Aubrey loves my necklaces so much that I can't ever wear them because she always wants to rip them off and have them for herself (or eat them). This girl loves her accessories already. Wonder where she gets that from?
How about some shameless selfies to finish the post off?

My cousin recently reshaped my hairstyle and took about and inch and a half off of the ends. I'm in love with all of the long layers that she put in and I really love my long bangs. I never blow it out and leave it. I aways curl it right away but this time I decided to give myself a proper blowout and I'm really happy with the change. Sometimes change is just what you need. Sometimes.

I'm still holding on to the ombre but I think it's about time to go back to my dark hair. Every time I think I'm going to do it I back out though.
What should I do? Go dark or stay ombre?

Labor Day Shopping

I can't believe that the official end of summer holiday has come and gone. I'm holding onto summer and so sad to see the warm sunny days go but I'm starting to get pretty excited for fall. Pumpkin spiced coffees, pumpkin scented candles, apple pies, bringing Aubrey to a pumpkin patch, apple cider, and getting a Halloween costume for my little pumpkin... lots to look forward to!

We had a pretty laid back weekend. We were supposed to go to La Festa (the local Italian festival) that I look forward to every year but we were rained out so Saturday turned into a day of relaxation hanging around the house. Sunday we hit the outlets for some sales and on Monday we had a little cookout at our place. Here are a few things that I picked up on Sunday:
J. Crew Polka Dot
J. Crew Oh La La (in stores)
J.Crew Long Sleeve V Necks Tissue Tees in Sheer Mint & Caribbean Pink
J.Crew Artist Boatneck Tee in Festival Blue

J. Crew Toothpick Super Skinny Jeans
These jeans fit like they were made especially for me- love, love love!
Gap (Factory Store) Zippered Hoodie
Gap (Factory Store) Yoga Pants in Heather Gray and Black

Baby Gap (Factory Store)
...and my favorite purchase of the day was this adorable jacket for Aubrey! I wish that it came in my size because I would definitely get it in a heartbeat.

Did you hit the Labor Day sales too?
